The longer you dance, the deeper the healing.

Gabrielle Roth

Your First Class

  • Follow your own pace.
  • You are responsible for your own body; take physical limitations and any injuries into account.
  • Keep your eyes open to stay aware of the space and of others in the room.
  • Dance barefoot or in dance shoes (socks can be slippery).
  • Move how you feel and stay open to changing.
  • Know that everything that is alive has its own dance, and your only task is to find and express yours.
  • Enjoy yourself! (Excessive seriousness may slow you down).

Items to bring

  • A bottle of water.
  • Loose, comfortable clothing with several layers to dance in.
  • A dry t-shirt – we could be doing some serious sweating.
  • Something warm (jumper/ jacket) to wear when we’re in stillness or sitting at the end (or whenever you feel cooler).
